DKCH Glamorgan's
Entertainer.(Popeye)
I'll never forget the first time I saw
Popeye. We were visiting the
glamorgan's Kennels in Holland
and down in their yard you could
see his silhouette against the sun
behind him. "Wow" I gasped "he's
like a stallion!!!" And he really
was. Became champion just in 3
shows and we were both very
proud to have owned him.

We decided it was very important to have good
breeding stock, which was why we had started
with buying 6 dogs from other successful
kennels who we first made up to champions
before breeding from them. Far too few
consider the importance of good breeding
stock from safe breeding lines. The last bitch
we bought was the jewel in the crown. Already
3 years old when we bought her Tessa came to
us and took to us like a duck to water. We
picked her up at Crufts and even on the ferry
home to Denmark. Tessa tucked herself close
into us and spent the rest of her life as my
couch potato. She drove around with me
everywhere I went, and she never left our side
till the day she died. She hated showing. It
bored her to tears- despite that she made
Danish and Dutch Champion- just to oblige us.
Her strength was as a mother - she had 2
super litters of 6 pups with Jumbo where every
pup could have been a champion. And she and
Jumbo are the corner stone to our breeding to
this very day.

(Higgins)
Another dog we
bought from the Glamorgan's Kennels who
alas died far too young. He was probably one
of the most beautiful dogs we both have ever
seen or have had the honour to call our own,
and we were very proud to have had him in
our Kennels. First time out just barely a year
old, he won the breed and the group. Second
time out he did the same. At the third show in
Germany something spooked him and he
could never be shown again. To this day we
still don't know what happened. But he was
so beautiful we could never find another
Welsh to replace him, which is why we
stopped breeding Welsh Terriers.
