International Championship Show Manager experience
I was the show manager for 2 Large International FCI Terrier Championship shows in Denmark 1988-1 for the
Danish Kennel Club and the other for the Danish Terrier Club.
List of Shows judged
Unluckily the Kennel Club criteria have changed for judges in the UK. Until I left the UK for Northern Ireland in
1991-2 we were required to keep track of number of classes we had judged- which I did. Unluckily a few years
ago this changed to number of dogs- which I had not been recording. Due to having moved a number of times
and loss of material there are only a few of the shows I know how many dogs I judged in each class. So the
figures I have written on the enclosed sheets cannot be completely accurate. (only Breeds and classes are
100% accurate) I think I had judged approximately 35 Wires until January 2002 in 21 classes. Since January
2002 the lists attached are correct with the number of dogs.

Background
As is evident from the above I originally did a lot of my "apprenticeship" in showing overseas (in Denmark)
under the FCI rules.
I have been in Wire Fox Terriers (and partially also in Welsh Terriers) since 1980,
I (along with my partner Kari Moeller Hansen) applied for and was granted the
Scanwyre Affix by the FCI  in 1984 and when we moved to Great Britain  was
granted the same affix by the British Kennel Club in 1989 .
My overseas years:
From 1980 to 1989 I was very active within the Danish Terrier Club being the Wire
Fox Terrier breed Representative (equivalent to chairperson) and also the
assistant breed Representative in Welsh Terriers on numerous occasions. I was
the Chairperson for the local Terrier Club for several years. We showed dogs very
successfully in Denmark, Germany, Belgium and Holland. Just before moving to
Great Britain (1989) I was passed by the Danish Terrier Club to start my judging
training in all terrier breeds (takes about 3 years), however due to moving to Great
Britain had to give this up.
Outside the Show world I was a vet with my own small animal clinic, and was
involved in many other areas within the dog world such frequently writing in the
dog journals about veterinary problems, having a weekly veterinary radio program on the local radio, holding
talks around the country regarding doggie issues (veterinary) etc
Since arriving in Britain 1989:
After our dogs came out of quarantine we showed wires during the first 3 years, but due to setting up in
business and personal circumstances, had to keep activities to a minimum. We moved to Northern Ireland in
1991.
Whilst in Great Britain I managed to get a number of Open show and exemption show judging appointments.
Was a frequent writer in Dog world regarding tail docking and was the very first vet to be associated with the
Council of docked breeds.
After a short 5 year break after moving to Northern Ireland and settling in, I rejoined the British show world in
1997 .I was the Chairperson for the Ulster Fox Terrier Club from 2001 till 2006. The Ulster Fox Terrier Club
hosts Northern Irelands largest Open show, which is no mean feat for probably the smallest Fox Terrier club in
the UK.
My partner and I show dogs in the Republic of Ireland and support the local Northern Irish open shows. In
November of 2004 I was asked to judge my first Green star (under the FCI rules) Show (wires and smooths ) in
Dublin. My best of wft breed winner was a youngster that went on to win Best in Show and since went on to win
many CC’ s and green stars and became the dog of the year in wires 2005 in the UK . I am now 2006 about to
be certified for 3 more terrier breeds in Ireland.
