My mother was born in Denmark and I
moved to Denmark in 1963. Kari married a
Dane and moved to Denmark when she
was about 19 years old. So both of us
have lived for many many years in
Denmark, bothe leaving for British Shores
in 1989. Obviously Denmark never
appealed to me so much as a photorapher
during the years I lived there. However
since having left it, I was thrilled to come
back and re-visit this time with my camera
in 2003. Since then any time I go back I
bring my camera and look for things I
didn’t see whilst I lived there. Suddenly I
now see the red post boxes that are
dotted around the country or the
traditional hot dog stands standing on
every square where there is trade from the
passers by. A ;large portion of these
photographs on this page is from Ribe
which is one of the oldest towns in
Denmark and there are photographs from
Odense where HC Andersen was born-
even a photograph of his birth place.
