MIKOS’ FAVOURITE FLAX BISCUITS
(taken off the internet)
What you need:
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 1/2 cups ground flaxseed (organic, cold-milled)
1 cup powdered non-fat milk
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 cup boullion powder (beef, liver, veggie or soup
mix)
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup iced water
1 tbsp flax seed oil
What you do:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
• Combine all dry ingredients.
• Mix in eggs & flaxseed oil, then add the cold
water so that the mixture forms a ball.
• Use a rolling pin to roll dough out to about 1/4 to
1/2 inch thickness, then cut into desired shapes.
(Sprinkle flour on your board if the dough is too
sticky to roll out easily.)
• Bake for 25-30 minutes on lightly greased cookie
sheets. the longer you bake, the crispier the cookie.
A shorter baking time makes for a softer cookie.
Alternatively, you can mix in a little extra water to
the dough and just spoon it onto the cookie sheet.
This method is faster than using cookie cutters and
the dogs are just as happy.
Recommended quantities: 2 cookies per day for 15-
20 lb. dog
(The Dog Mother says that she is going to double
up on the garlic powder for the flea season & make
me some Fleabusters –)
